Donor: Scratch Deli
Scratch Deli has been called many things; A piece of "old capitol hill", a "safe spot" , a "magical place". What we strive to be is a sustainably run restaurant that gives the community a warm and inviting place to hang out while eating creative and delicious food. We source our ingredients locally and organically whenever possible with a focus on seasonality. Originally founded as a Food Truck by Ian Thackaberry, Scratch Deli has been at its current location of 1718 12th Ave in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood since July of 2012. In September 2016 the restaurant was purchased and is currently owned by 4 employees, enthusiastic to continue the charm and history of the place. Scratch also serves its community as a theatre space where you will find a long established comedy open mic every Friday night. We are proud to give local artists a place to showcase and sell their work as well.

A slim, understated bronze intaglio pendant depicting a bee. In many ancient civilizations, the figure of a bee represented hard work and diligence. The chain is raw brass with a gold-filled lobster clasp. The length of the chain is 18" (46 cm). The pendant measures 7/8" across (22 mm).
This pendant is hand-carved in wax and cast in solid bronze using the lost wax process. The pendant is cast in small batches with a local business. Pieces are soldered by and finished by hand in the Ibis Element studio. Each piece receives a great deal of care and attention to craft.
Donor: Ibis Element
Ibis Element, based on Orcas Island, WA, makes handmade jewelry using the lost wax casting method. Their earrings, rings, and pendants evoke jewelry of antiquity but remain modern and wearable.
Earring and Necklace Set
Mixed metal creations made with rivets and upcycled watch and clock parts. Earring wires are hypo-allergenic niobium, great for even sensitive ears.
Donor: Owl & Crow Seattle
My name is Hannah and I craft jewelry and accessories primarily from re-purposed materials such as watch and clock parts, vintage jewelry, and mechanics. I love the juxtaposition of industrial and organic, hard metals and delicate wires. Found objects hold a tight grip on my heart and I love refashioning things that may have otherwise been lost. The Owl and Crow are birds I love and hold strong symbolism for me. The wisdom of the owl, the mischievousness of the crow, birds of prey and intellect. Night hunter, day hunter, tool makers, silent watchers, these birds represent an ever-present duality I feel in my soul. Making beautiful things through destruction is my soul as well, and I trust Owl and Crow to be my guides in that endeavor. I strongly believe in the re-use of material and recycling and upcycling are at the heart of my work. I love the second (or third, or fourth...) life that can be breathed into materials and the different ways that something old can become something new.
Most of my supplies are found locally in the Pacific Northwest through estate sales, antique stores, local craft stores, ground scores, and thrift shops. All of my work is handcrafted in my home studio in Seattle WA.
